bloated.

Three more sleeps and I'll be having classes again. No way! =p

Yesterday, I learned that one of the easiest ways to get bloated is to eat at Dampa. Of course, hormones are partly to be blamed for that (go figure!).

I had a rather eventful day yesterday, Sunday. Despite the bad tummy (hormones!), we had a family day out. We first attended mass before going to my Tita who's currently at the NCW (whatever) near the airport. We ate lunch at the canteen there. Sis and I got a bit camwhorish there. Then, my fam got crazy at the SM Mall of Asia (finally!) where we ate a quick (but long wait) snack at The Aristocrat. I never bought anything for myself because I am broke (self-declared). After getting tired, we went back to fetch my Tita and ate dinner at Dampa (Sucat). Food was really yummy. I ate almost half a kilo of halabos plus squid and fish. Sheesh! We went home late and guess what...I almost didn't fit into my shorts. Haha! :p

Papa insists that my sis and I play badminton again, but the PC calls.

Badminton next time. Definitely. :)

tracks

Should I or should I not? I'm actually thinking of changing my template, but since I'm too lazy to fix one, I'm thinking of simply downloading one from this cool designer, but it's too girly-girly this time. I'm just tired of tweaking templates this time...even for my Multiply.

***
Things I did for the past couple of days:
1. Enrolled for school. Yep! I'm going back...more scared this time. Hehe! :)
2. Organized some of the earrings my sister and I have at our holder. I've counted 92 and there are still more in our boxes. Shux! I guess that's too many. We're like Imelda or something...only earrings this time.
3. Went to visit Uncle Jaime in Cavite and finally saw his adorable son. As usual, I'll be posting pictures in my Multiply soon.
4. Finished my Grey's Anatomy until season 3 episode 5. Thanks to DSL. I'm such an addict...sleeping until 3am for those. =p I haven't even watched a full episode in local TV and I'm not even aware if season 3 has started already. Now, Papa has to get a CD/DVD burner because I'm using too much PC space here.
5. Saw Uncle Jaime's son again today. He visited to get some chickens and stuff.
6. Ate lots of burgers. Hehe! =p The ones sold near our home are really yummy and they come cheap pa.
7. Been a sleep and TV junkie.
8. Did a lot of house chores...coz I'm stuck here at home with nothing much to do.
This sembreak really isn't a record breaker. Not so great. Me being lazy to go out. My parents, same. Sis...well, she started her sembreak just last Wednesday. Really boring sembreak.
Now I have to wash the dishes. Again.

spare me the "title"

Sometimes, I think of medicine (or being a doctor) as a lonely career. You deal with disease, pain, and death. You try to avoid too much attachment to your patients because they'll eventually leave the hospital never to be heard from again (or maybe they'll die). You'll be spending most of your time in the hospital forgetting holidays and travel trips. Having time for your family will likewise be difficult (not that I'm thinking of having a family yet).

Pardon. I've been having more than my usual dose of Grey's Anatomy.

Oh well...there are some good sides (hence the saying there are two sides to every story).

But will someone please tell me the difference of "being spiritual" and "being religious". I tend to forget easily.

***

I've been trying to avoid facing the PC lately because whenever my fingers start tapping on this keyboard, I tend to lose myself. I'm currently hooked on a new game and I just had to finish my Grey's Anatomy DVDs first. I've been sleeping at 3am for those.

Anyway, I finally got a chance to see some friends last Friday. Went out with Ivy, Dean, JL, and Migo. Good thing that Migo brought his car then because I wasn't exactly feeling good. I haven't exactly told them that. So there...we met at Gateway, went to UP, ate at the Beach House, and went to JL's house at Sta. Mesa. Running late, we had our shower, prepped ourselves for late night partying, supported JL's soro activity, and watched "The Prestige". Hmm...I'm abusing my verbs and commas. Anyway, "The Prestige" was a really crazy good movie which left us ulceric (if there was ever a word for it) so we had a very late dinner at Jollibee. I finally got to taste mushroom rice (and ate that again last Sunday). After dinner, we went to Ratsky's for the soro's party and I drank only a sip of alcohol (I'm sick, remember?). Haay...and I was really up to being experimental that night. The party seemed not to last after Freestyle left so with not much to do, we went strolling around Malate. I haven't been there in a while and a lot has changed. Still went to the Nakpil area just to check things out. If you've been to Malate, you'll know the place. Saw Richard (a classmate from UERM who went on LOA) there but I wasn't up for some chit chat. Went to Remedios Circle for the Oktoberfest but it ended really early so we went back to JL's place for some talking, catching up, and eating late dinner (again). I was really tired already that my eyes were closing. I think we slept at around 4am already and we woke really late for breakfast (it was 12am). We left at around 4 in the afternoon. I can say I had fun for those couple of days. It feels good to see friends. :)

***

And oh...I've been doing some exploring around the metro as well. Went to Malabon and Taguig (thanks to my sister). I actually saw the celebration or praying (I'm sorry coz I don't know how to call it) at the Blue Mosque awhile ago.

Happy Eid'l Fitr! :)

Ang dami raw food kina Talia. I want to eat.

Can you see that I want to get my ass away from this PC? I have to go finish my DVDs.

updates

I'm loving my cut. Shorter and a bit different. But I wonder why I always like my sister's hair after a haircut. Maybe I just have to get used to mine.

Anyway, I saw this gold flops at Shoe Salon. I wanna buy. Hehe! :) That plus a decent pair of sandals. I just have to stop buying flops because all I have now are flops and I can't wear them everytime to a party.

Got a new tagboard as well. :D

Have to upload photos muna.

friendship blues

I should be getting ready because in less than an hour, I shall be leaving the house to meet my sister at Rob ME to finally get some decent haircut. But heck! I'm still dilly dallying and prancing around websites and blogs.

I have been thinking about my friends lately...eversince I got out of the hospital. Yup! The white walls got me thinking a lot about some really close friends, some suddenly texting out of nowhere as if hearing my thoughts. I swear I may have some sort of telekinesis.

Krystel texted me late Monday evening. I miss her lots. From now on, I shall be calling her my guardian angel. She just appears (or basically makes her presence felt) everytime I felt lonely or alone. I got to know her better during a time when my bestfriend and I were kinda drifting apart. And just last Monday when I was kinda feeling down, she suddenly texted. I just love her for that. Kinda uplifts your spirit.

I've been wondering if Bri, my bestfriend for uhm...8 years na ata...would've visited me if she knew I was in the hospital. I just feel that she has her own worries so I didn't tell her what happened to me. If not for me forgetting I was logged in on YM, she wouldn't have known I was in the hospital. Bri and I...we're totally different. I dunno...I still feel the distance between us at times as if I barely know her. It just feels different because when her birthday or Christmas comes, I have a hard time buying her a present unlike when I'm buying gifts for my other friends. I know what they like and what they really need. But with Bri, buying her a present is a different matter. But don't get me wrong. Bri and I...we're good. Differences perhaps.

Then, Ivy texted last Monday as well. She's been one of my first few friends in high school. Brutally frank at times, but totally sincere. That's what I like about her. I'll be meeting her again this Friday along with JL and perhaps Dean as well. We have lots of talking to do. I'm so excited. :) Shux! We'll be partying again (perhaps til midnight) and I'm not into dancing. We'll see. ;)

Then there's Krissy who's blog I just visited. I miss the chika. And yeah...we better talk about boys and fashion next time. The anatomy talk I've been doing did me no good and brought me to the hospital instead. If not for the magazines I've been reading, I'd be totally clueless as to what's in and out now.

And last for now (I have 30 minutes left to bathe and prepare), Danci. Screw you for not visiting at the hospital. Hehe! =p Sorry for being pikon last night. I can only laugh how people (for like the nth time) constantly would ask why we didn't end up together. Like "eww!" Ask Joyie. Hehe! =p I will always remember Danci as the first guy who gave me real flowers (even if they weren't tulips)...all because he knew I so wanted to receive flowers and none has ever done that. That was during a time when I was desperately in need of a lovelife. I'm so over that now and I'm just so glad Danci (together with Krystel) listened at my insanity. And for those who'll ask me again, what Danci and I have is plainly a platonic relationship. I'll probably direct those people to my blog the next time they ask me about it.

So there. I better be taking a bath. Sis will really breathe fire if I'm late.

my sembreak starter

I'll be fixing my blog real soon because a lot seems to be screwed up including the tagboard.

Anyway, before I waste time ranting on my screwed up blog...

***

I'm already on my sembreak...thank God...but I spent the first four days in the hospital. Of all places.
I was just fortunate enough to have contracted UTI. How perfect!

Sarcasm aside...

I got around to researching about it and I still am not sure how I got it. Maybe due to the stress caused by the exams. I may be vulnerable ever since the Milenyo typhoon struck the country because 1) I rarely drink water now because our ref hasn't been working for weeks (thanks to the flood) and I don't like drinking warm water and 2) I haven't been drinking my vitamins regularly because the table's not arranged properly.

I was just not feeling well last Thursday afternoon after going home from school and after having a hearty lunch at KFC (thanks to Hanni's mom). I puked everything I ate including my Friday breakfast (of chicken still). And because of my puking spree, I barely studied for my Anatomy pracs that day. Good thing that my anti-study-group-self-why-oh-why joined Hanni, Roselle, Ivy, and Curt at Starbucks last Wednesday night to study. I failed that exam for sure. I actually had the option not to take that exam that day (and take it some other time) but well, I just felt I had to. I just had to endure the exams with an empty stomach and lots of prayers that the formalin may not set me into puking mode again.

After the very positive feedback session of my 3rd Biochem exam (which I finally managed to pass na), I went to the infirmary to consult the doctor about my vomitting including my blood-streaked watery feces (sorry for the weak of heart). The doctor told me that he was admitting me to the infirmary ward. That was after he asked me if I had any [sexual] contact prior to my vomitting. Haha! My sister can only laugh. I quote her: "Matakot ka pag buntis si Ate...sino ang ama?" Divine intervention others said. Haha again.

Syempre, with the lil sanity left of me, I asked the doc if I can still do some OPD patient interviewing muna.

After the interview, Trish, Julz, Rosie, and Meme went with me to the infirmary ward. Then, more surprisingly visited me after. There was Cla, Stephen, Poch, Joanna, Debbie, Sweet, and Tina. Monchi, who happened to be in the infirmary with her dengue-stricken brother, learned I was there so she visited me as well. Big thanks to all of you guys. I appreciated the visit. :) Thank you's go to some other family friends who came namely Tita Yoli, Tita Marlyn, Tita Erly, and Ate Inday.

Anyway, I really hate the thought of me being in the hospital. God knows how much I fear needles. Sabi nga ni Trish when the intern was inserting the needle for the IVF, para raw ako hindi nasasaktan. Tatlong tusok pa yon ha...the first 2 were unsuccesful attempts since my damn vein kept on bursting. Susme! I can tolerate the pain, but I'm really afraid. Kaya nga ganon na lang ang pasasalamat ko kay Trish eh. The only tangible thing I managed to offer her then was the banana from my dinner tray.

The infirmary ward experience was a bit fun, crazy, and lonely. Good thing that it was airconditioned plus my stay there was discounted (my mom paid only 65 pesos for my Friday to Monday stay there). Food was okay (my fave had to be the fish in some sour sauce). I still managed to watch TV (although I had to leave my room for that). I befriended my two roommates (except the last one who came in before I left) who both had dengue (and I can only fear of mosquito vectors then). I also befriended people who monitored me...interns and nurses galore...even if they had to wake me up in the middle of the night. I found out that a JI's duty lasts for around 36 hours. Whoa! It was lonely at some point especially when there were no visitors except for my mom who was always there for me. Good thing my cellphone and magazines kept me company.

I finally got out of the infirmary ward last Monday after submitting my stool sample for fecalysis late Sunday evening. It was what they've been waiting. Goodness! They should have allowed me to eat sana. I was on NPO (no food and water) until Saturday noon so expect me not to excrete anything solid noh. I consumed about 6 bags of IVF and my hand's still sore from the needles.

Monday evening, we ate out and I bought myself new earrings (hehe!). I'm back to my old self...except for the medications I still have to take.

***

I'll be posting pictures soon. Starbucks photos from two days of study sessions there. Puppy pictures...they've grown so thin and less cute when I came back home yesterday (h.a.v.e.t.o.f.e.e.d.t.h.e.m). Infirmary ward pictures (how weird). Check my multiply soon. :)

Just have to download songs muna.

Have to make the most out of my sembreak. Need lotsa pampering.

Glad to be going out this weekend with Ivy, JL, and Dean. Miss them soooo much! :)

Something's seriously wrong with Blogger. My HTML's not working and almost everything else is screwed up.

But I have my exams to worry for now.

Later.

my eventful week

My week started out to be really stressful and it still is, although it has mellowed down after I received news that our Anatomy lab exam is moved for next week, Friday. :D

As much as I would like to believe that surviving the Milenyo storm meant water running from our faucet and electricity restored, I was wrong. I learned that fact from actual experience, but that was after a strenuous "mall hopping" last Sunday in heels which left my footsies beat from too much walking. Late evening last Sunday, just before Trip na Trip (that funny travel show on ABS-CBN), the electricity fluctuated and there was a blackout. When the power was restored a few minutes later, there was a scary sound as if a bomb was detonated (on a lesser scale). Seconds after, one of our neighbors called saying that one of the posts (the 3rd one away from home) was on fire and that Meralco need to be called for assistance. Of course, that got us all hyped. Papa and I immediately went outside and checked the damage (the fire and fallen electrical wire) and Cathe panicked and closed all our lights before we could even grab some candles. The posts nearer to our house sparked after and everyone was totally scared of the possibility of a fire here in the neighborhood. My sister and I tried calling to Meralco but it was really futile doing so at such a time when they were busy fixing posts torn down by Milenyo. Good thing that one of our neighbors works at Meralco, and I guess he was the one who used the radio for help thus primary assistance was given. However, we were informed it will be fixed the morning after so we had to suffer a night of darkness again. Mama was misinformed that the ones who came were actually from PLDT (which was really stupid) so I tried calling Meralco again. After 30 minutes or so on hold, someone answered and talked to me which finally gave me comfort at least just before I slept. But I tell you...I was really paranoid about the fire possibility. Oh well...who wouldn't feel the same way.

The morning after, the post was fixed and it was found out that it started from a post near the basketball court and a chain reaction happened. The post in front of our home was said to be in the worst condition with some wires melted. And because of that, the people from Meralco wondered why none of us (in our house) called. As it turned out, the person who reported the incident was someone named Bro. Chris and my 30 minute call was all in vain. Napagsabihan pa kami ng mga Meralco people. If only they knew.

If it happened once, it's bound to happen a second time. I'm not sure if that's how the saying goes. Anyway, as if we haven't had enough, Monday evening, it started to rain heavily. We all assumed it had to be the effect of typhoon Neneng. We were having dinner at around eight in the evening and Papa was already asking me to transfer the car in case it floods again. I joked around and told him it couldn't be that worse this time.

And I choked at my own words minutes after.

Our dog barked and Mama asked us to check and half-jokingly said it may be because there was a flood. Alas! There was flood indeed. Good thing our things were still up because of the previous flood. This one's a flash flood (and the worst ever) because in less than an hour, the flood came up above our knees inside our home. As we found out later, some dike up in Antipolo or wherever broke and the flood waters just couldn't be contained. Unfortunately, our town's considered a water basin and water from places like Antipolo and Binangonan go directly to our place.

The flood left immediately after leaving our home greatly damaged. Several things got wet including our printer's power adapter and Mama's cellphone. The car was half filled with water while the van barely survived. I guess we were still fortunate because our neighbor didn't get to save most of their clothes from getting wet and one family only got to save their television set from getting wet. Sis and I went to our neighbor's house after to basically study, but I just couldn't help sleeping. I had a whole bed for myself eh.

Just like every other flood, my dad kept on insisting that we go find a new house na. I'd rather not transfer. We have a great neighborhood here...and I'm going to miss the spaghetti or pansit during birthdays. Ang babaw raw ng reason ko. =p

Well, our house is starting to look okay now. We'll be having our very first dinner back at the dining table later. The living room's seats are outside though. Have to dry them including my parents' bed.

Then, last Wednesday, some kind of deja vu happened. I was not my usual during that morning and as I was about to unboard the jeepney, I shouted "Bayad!" instead of "Para!" Haha! I bet my sister's going to laugh again about this one (just like last time sis). I bet I look stupid trying to hide my laughter as I was climbing the stairs that morning. Hay! What a way to perk me up that morning.

As if luck would have it, I learned from my sister that this neighbor of ours (around 13 years old na ata) copied some of my friendster profile (I'm not really sure if it's the friendster profile I have right now though). Grr! I just hate copycats. I bet she doesn't even know what she copied. She even put the line about "me" not killing ants. Knowing her, she doesn't even care about ants. Oh well...pagbigyan ang engot. Ooops...forgive me.

I better go. Next week's bound to get busier with exams. But let me be optimistic about it...after the exams will be almost a month of vacation. That should get me excited.

Hope my parents bought me a mocha frap from Starbucks.
