My first class for today was Psych 145. It was only today that she announced that we were supposed to pass our lexical domain paper for today. Gosh! Panic mode noh! Wala naman siyang sinabi eh. Sa kabilang class siya nag-announce and she expected us to pass it now?! Oh well...at least I did my part before pa so right now, I edited some parts of it and voila! Just have to do the conclusion part and I'm done. Hope my groupmates aren't feeling ngarag as well.
Then, surprise surprise! Come my second class which is Psych 180. We were kinda expecting for a quiz but I didn't expect it to be about the 4th chapter noh! Haay...You probably guessed what happened next. It was, according to my prof, a bonus quiz since most of my classmates weren't in class yet (as they were attending to something at the lobby downstairs). Sana nga bonus quiz lang kasi I really blew it. Puro hula sagot ko. Tipong give the definitions pa. Haha! Matatawa sa frustration prof ko pag nabasa niya yon.
Anyway, today was a day of butt cracks. Grabe! Nakaka-bother. Musta naman kami ni Ivy noh?! Eh kasi, kami yung nakakakita...hindi namin sinisilip. Kami ata yung naco-conscious for them. Gusto na nga naming kalabitin at sabihing "hoy...kita yung..." pero nyark! Minsan, feel na naming hilain pataas yung pants nila. I'm not telling who. Basta...buti na lang wala pa akong nakikitang guys na kita yung butt cracks. Kadiri siguro. Thanks to their long shirts. Mas ok pa nga atang kita yung underwear eh. Haay...musta naman ang usapan?
Kanina, sa Psych 180, nilaro namin yung nilaro namin dati nung mga friends ko sa swimming pool ng La Colina. Haha! :) Funny lang. Imagine this...I was smiling while the prof was telling the instructions. Naalala ko kasi yung dati. Grabe yon eh. Puro green yung questions. Haha!:D For class eh medyo tame naman. Pag medyo getting green na eh natatawa yung lahat. Natatameme yung ilan.
***
Nagbonding kami ni Mama kanina...sa Jollibee! :) Nagpa-print kasi kami ng pictures. Ngayon lang naisipan. 59 pieces lang at hundreds pa yung nandito. 7 pesos per piece so uhm...pulubi na kami after. Therefore, onti na lang muna. Nakakatuwa pa rin.
***
To Cathe and Mart...boring niyong kausap. Imagine, nakatulog ako habang nag-uusap kayo. Kinukulit ko pa kayo niyan ha. ;p Cathe...Princess Lulu. Harhar! :D Mart...abangan mo yung drawing ni Cathe na isesend ko. Yung pinunit niya dahil obscene tingnan. Better watch out for it...sa anniversary niyo. Yika! Lapit na. No flowers sa bedroom ha. Dangerous sa relationship according to Joy Lim. Lol! :D
***
Haay...gotta go.
Papa bought me FL DVDs na. It's here according to plan. Haha!
Natutuwa ako kay Joy. Nahuhumaling sa Jewel in the Palace. Hindi ako sanay. ;p
Sabik.
Sabik akong mag-shopping.
I feel like I haven't shopped for decades. I am supposed to be out today at Tiendesitas pero nawalan ako ng gana. Let's just say hindi conducive yung atmosphere dito sa bahay. Kami nga lang ata ni Mama ang nagkakasundo. Isa pa yung sabik mag-shopping.
Sabik ako sa musika.
I have been hearing a lot of good songs lately. Ang dami kong gustong bilhing CDs. Before, it was only Cathe who had this dilemma, but now...come to think of it.
At long last, I've heard Rocksteddy play in ASAP kanina. Before, I used to only catch them on midnights at MYX. I even saw the premiere of their first single (Lagi Mo Na Lang Akong Dinededma) there. Now, Cathe seems to be hooked to them as well. Pansin ko lang...I seem to be introducing her to Rocksteddy type bands. So...she keeps asking me to buy her CDs. Sabi nga niya, I keep telling her I'd buy her CDs for Christmas or for her birthday pero I still haven't done that. For her birthday this March, I plan to treat her out to watch Live Aids. Probably ask Kim and Ice to join us too. Then, we'll probably join an Ilocos tour. That would be coming from our parents naman. Something to do before the school starts again for summer. No CD again for Cathe.
I heard MYMP at The Buzz a while ago. May Crazy For You version sila. (Fave song pa nga ni Kris yung Crazy For You.) Huli na ba ako? Sheesh! I wanna get their CD as well and watch their concert at Araneta. Hmm...;)
Sabik ako sa DVDs.
Hehe! The other Saturday, I watched "Narnia" on DVD. I didn't get to finish it kasi sira yung DVD. Yesterday, I tried to watch "The Girl" on DVD din. It's an old forgotten DVD we have here, and it's a French Film (ata) on lesbian relationships. It's pretty good. Great poetry. However, again, I didn't get to finish it kasi sira na naman sa dulo. I did technically finish it but it was on forward mode so I didn't catch the dialogues. Oh well...I'm thinking that it might have something to do with the player, but I had it cleaned and nothing good has happened.
Oh...Papa had already ordered Forbidden Love DVDs for me. Haha! :D I guess it's going to arrive tomorrow. I still haven't finished watching it online pala. However, the second time that I tried to watch it, I had progressed long enough to see it for uhm...10 minutes siguro. O diba?! Improvement! ;p
Let's include here a new movie, but I'm hoping not to watch it on DVD (probably get a copy later on na lang after I watch it at the cinema). Seen the trailer for "Close to You"...Bea, John Lloyd, and Sam's movie. Love the trailer (especially the lines). Sabi ko nga kay Cathe, parang kwento nila ni Mart. Sabi ni Cathe, lagi ko naman daw yon sinasabi. Hehe! Siguro pwedeng gawing story sa movie yung kwento nila ni Mart noh? =p
Mali pala yung show ni Charlene...yung "At Home Ka Dito". Diba dapat "At Home Ka Rito"? Wala lang.
Sabik ako sa oras ng Papa ko.
Obviously, he's been too busy. I've been telling you about his training work. Just found out that he's the president of EQ Academy located at Makati. O diba? Hay naku! Mas into Psychology pa nga siya ngayon eh. He keeps talking to me about Psych stuff...as if I'm into it as well. I've been studying Psych in school but I just don't want to be talking about it. Papa seems to be sensationalizing every bit of it naman eh. Anyway, it's a networking thing. Their teaching for free ata. The rewards they get? Don't ask me. I've asked Papa about it several times already, but I still don't understand how they really get paid for it.
Haay...balak ko ngang sumama minsan sa Makati. Sabi ko kay Mama, punta kami sa Rockwell while Papa's teaching. Pero naman...Papa gets home at around midnight each day. How are we supposed to go home then?
Before I end my post here, I'd like to greet everyone Kung Hei Fat Choi! :)
We aren't exactly Chinese but with Papa working with Chinese people, the culture keeps on rubbing in. We're cool with it. But we're not throwing the fact that we're Filipinos (mixed blood or not).
I was hoping to light up some Roman candles here at home but everyone's sleeping. Papa's on the computer, but he's good as asleep so he doesn't count.
CJ caught me online at around midnight days ago. He sent me a message asking me what I was doing at that time. I only told him I was watching something online. Well, I actually was watching the last episode of Forbidden Love online. Sans the DSL connection, it was a failure. I only watched about 3 minutes of it. Some guilty pleasure... I keep convincing Papa to buy me a DVD copy. He has his Jewel in the Palace naman eh. Buti na nga lang, he bought that already. Otherwise, I'd be always changing channels just to watch both koreanovela.
Oh well...the next day, Dra. (from Iloilo) called just to ask where we were buying our DVDs. She has her own obsession as well. She's into the Only You koreanovela which comes earlier than FL. I told her to watch it online (since she has a DSL connection naman). The next day, she called Mama to tell her what she watched. Obviously, she finished the last episode and slept at around 2am. Ha! But still, she wants to watch the Tagalog version. She kinda doesn't want subtitles and all.
What's with koreanovelas ba?
*Anyway, I'm continuing to watch FL's last episode right now. Still not quitting. :)*
***
I watched Bubble Gang kanina. I don't really watch that show because I usually sleep earlier on Friday nights or do other stuff. Had a good laugh though. I never thought it could make me laugh that way again. I find gag shows rare already. Buti nga tumagal yung BG.
***
And oh...I take back what I said about Ivy...na buti pa siya. I was being too optimistic and positive. I just hope she stays happy. :)
Know what I'm thinking of right now? I want to go to the beach, sit on white sand under the evening sky, watch the waves, and think. I want a solitary moment for myself just to think things over.
Watching primetime shows with those great background music is no help at all.
From Je's email:
Maybe the absence of signs is a sign.
What if there is the sign, but it doesn't make sense naman? Lalo lang ginugulo yung buhay ko eh. Sabi nga, being a Psychology student can be difficult at times. I analyze my life too much.
Buti pa si Ivy, happy ngayon. Hehe! ;)
Sana naman, kiligin ako...pero sa sarili kong kwento.
Oh...before I go, I'm posting some tests I took. Li'l fun I almost forgot.
Not that I need some kind of reaffirmation...

Pacquiao won yesterday. Mart spilled everything yesterday because we asked him naman. Thanks to his cable connection. CJ texted as well. Oh well...being his usual self, he said that he knew because his uncle was there. Haay...I really find him mayabang in a way but it' s just the way it is noh? In frustration (?), I hastily called up Mart yesterday. Haha! Ganyan talaga noh? Just like his mom calls my mom whenever she's in sheer frustration (and even anger).
Today, Pacquiao seemed to morph into one national hero. I bet, with the money he won, he could put up his own gold statue and replace the one in Luneta. Or maybe, the Filipinos will create a monument for him somewhere else. That will be his first job as a politician. Also, he could buy Cathe her own Porsche too. Otherwise, Cathe will go into a boxing career. We don't want to see that happen, do you?
I'm not angry about Pacquiao. It's just the media thing going on. They can be really OA at times. I don't really like violence sports. But boxing's way better than wrestling naman siguro.
At least the traffic wasn't bad yesterday. Although by the time the game was finished (and that was when we decided to go shopping as well), people were going to the mall already. A bit of traffic there already.

My Psych 180 prof talked about impression formation in class awhile ago. Okay...we've been talking about it since last week (Monday to be exact). I love Psych 180 class. I learn new things and have fun at the same time. Ma'm Billedo's really great. No pretentions or anything (am talking about her ha). Gee! I think it would be cool to see her belly dance in front of class for a change. Haha! Am a frustrated belly dancer I guess.
Anyway, here are some cute li'l facts I learned from class. Yeah...I tune in to discussions.
- When people like you, they tend to imitate you. --> Therefore, should I be flattered? Er...I don't really like people imitating me. Uniqueness is they way to go.
- People in love maintain the longest eye contact. --> I bet there's some security thing in there somewhere...thus the long duration of eye contact. Kaya pala may kasabihang malagkit tumingin. Baka may kanin sa mata. ;p
- On nonorganic grounds of nearsightedness and farsightedness, people turn to psychological reasons. Nearsighted people have a need for intimacy. Farsighted ones...you get the logic. --> Cathe shares a story. She was in the car in the front seat with Papa as the driver. She was texting someone (I'm presuming it was Mart) and was trying to hide her phone's screen by moving it farther away from Papa. But then again, Papa sort of made his presence felt (fine...can't really explain what happened). The moral of the story? Papa's farsighted...thus there's no need for Cathe to move her phone farther away. Hmm...Papa's farsighted...
- High self-monitoring people have animated facial expressions. --> I'm poor with animating my facial expressions and a test I took said I was low in self-monitoring. I guess this one made sense.
- In "reading" other people, the most reliable thing to look at is his body movement followed by his facial expressions. Don't count on his verbal expressions. --> Now I know...
- Microexpressions are hard to notice at 1/10th of a second. Bill Clinton was caught lying about his affair with Monica by studying his microexpressions. --> Moral lesson: Don't lie when the cam's on.
- Less information will lead to extreme judgement of people. --> Nuf said.
- There are what we call crucial traits in people. Regardless of his other traits, the crucial traits still matter. --> Come to think of it, I look for a certain crucial trait in a person. He should not be too proud, pompous, arrogant, or bigheaded (look for more synonyms).
After class, we had this activity where in we'd write in this piece of paper taped on our classmates' backs. We'd have to write our first impressions on them and our recent impressions of them now that we know them. But first, we'd have to write in a piece of paper some of our expected answers for ourselves.
Anyway, I got consistent ones. I found it boring. People's first impressions of me include me being quiet, serious, intelligent, and mahinhin. It was just as I had expected. On the other hand, when they got to know me, they found me: still quiet and intelligent, friendly, creative (I'm presuming this has something to do with all the Mandala work we've been doing), maganda (Haha! I'm loving this...ego boost ;p), and makwento and masarap kausap (one even said I was funny). I was expecting they'd say I was madaldal or something which kinda happened naman. Confirmed! I'm one repressed daldalera. :D

I bought two magazines yesterday because I was in dire need for an update in the fashion scene. But what do I get? Lots of stories about relationships and boys. Blame it on the coming Valentines' Day.
Let me get on the hype.
According to Ines (editor-in-chief of Candymag), there are top three things you must not do when you're seriously in LIKE with a boy:
1. Do not play messenger.
Sabi nga ni Mart, I'm always the mediator. Haay...I wonder so myself.
2. Do not proclaim your like to the world.
From now on, I shall keep my lips sealed. Haha! Daldal days are now over.
3. Don't settle for leftovers.
But of course! Definitely!
Now, I shall come to my senses as well.
I have more to share as well. But then again, I'd rather not be too emotional this time. I'll wait for February to come.
Our main sponsor, Dickies, paid for the main band daw which was Slapshock. Dickies stuff were distributed to us because we should promote it daw. Kooky, our president, and one of the hosts that evening was garbed in an almost all Dickies apparel before the night was over.
It was supposed to be a cultural concert for us but it turned out to be a rock concert. I honestly am not into rock so I barely listened to and watched the concert. The crowd wasn't too great either. I dunno where we got them but stereotypically, they looked liked the ones who were responsible for horrible mosh pits. Bes and I, stage managers as we were, should be stationed somewhere near the stage, but we just stayed backstage for most part of the show because we were afraid to get stabbed or something. Bes was really scared...after all, the last rock concert she went to (which was at a UP Fair) turned out to be really scary. We were almost running for our lives before the show was over. That was about 2 years ago. Ha!
To amuse ourselves, Bes and I took several pictures of ourselves. It was a laugh. We looked crazy but at least we kept ourselves sane and awake the whole night. Some members even joined us as we clicked our phones the night away.
I'll tell you a funny story. Around 10pm last night, Bes, I, Alain, and Ken were outside near the back door because we needed the fresh air...and well...we wanted to take more photos in the dark. There was this group of guys seated on the bottom stairs but we took no notice of them. *Yeah...snobbish people that we were.* Anyway, when this group of guys went inside, I asked my friends if they knew the faces of the Slapshock people. Well, apparently, we were not into rock music so we don't really know. I rushed inside only to find out that they were indeed the Slapshock people. Nyark! Nakakahiya noh. They were our guests and we didn't even assist them or something. Hehe! I can just count in my fingers people in the org who really knew the Slapshock people.
Anyway, the group was great naman. They got the crowd going. My ears were ringing after from all those high decibel notes. Got scared too because the mob's getting rowdy. The group, unlike us, wasn't exactly snobbish. I told myself I'd take autographs for autograph's sake but then again, I didn't exactly do that. I was the last one in the org who went home and I stayed outside by the back door to wait. The group was still there pa nga eh. Pero syempre, when Rex came to fetch me, I just walked all the way to the van without even saying goodbye and thank you to the group. Fancy me!

Mama , Cathe, and I had our usual girl talk after having lunch a while ago. Well...the topic went on like this: Why do good people end up with not-so-good people? Hehe! Mama said it just happens naturally like that. So me, getting the logic said, who then is the not-so-good one between Mama and Papa and Cathe and Mart? Hehe! At least I don't have that not-so-good one yet. ;p

Filipinos...mahilig tayo sa kasabihang "if it's meant to be, it's meant to be." As if we depend a lot on fate itself. I found out that PLM extended its deadline to Feb. 3 and Joy said that if does so, then it's meant to be siguro. Therefore, we're probably going to continue our application there. PLM's anniversary, according to what I read, was like July 17 of long ago. Cathe said, it could be that the school’s meant for me (but I still prefer PGH noh).

I have a favorite joke pala. Got this from Ken. It just keeps me laughing anytime...never fails. :D
pano mo sasabihin na may muta ang katabi mo?
ung tipong hindi cya maoofend...
ganito "xcuse me, may muta ba ako?"
kung sasabihin nya wala sabihin mo agad sa kanya "buti ka pa meron."
Harhar! :D

Another weird conversation yesterday...
Why are "cues" always on sticks...ex: banana-cue, camote-cue, and barbeque...(have to check the spelling pa)
Tapos, while gazing outside the bahay ng alumni, we noticed the red lights on this tower...plus the red lights on top of the iglesia ni cristo building. According to my perception class, greens and blues are more noticeable at night...so why use red lights? Care to shed light on this?

Thirteen days after the year started and it is only now that I'm posting. Haha! Totally unusual for me.
Let's cram thirteen days of my life in one long post...ready? *memory check*
NEW YEAR'S EVE
New Year was like usual. Media noche on the table. This year, we feasted on lots of seafood...from shrimps, crabs, blue mussels, blue marlin, sinuglaw (sinugba + kinilaw). We also had weird food though...lechon (only the poor piggy's head on the table) and buko pandan minus the buko (hehe! only one out of five coconuts had meat in it). I kinda lost my appetite a week before new year only to discover that it was preparing itself for this feast. Very tempting, I must say.
We greeted new year with a bang. Lots of fireworks watching from afar. Lots of jumping. Lots of noise. Incense burning (we're definitely not Chinese). Lots of grapes and oranges rolling. All those superstition and stuff. I'm not really into firecrackers (blame it on a "roman candle" accident I had as a child) but for the sake of new year, why give a damn? I inhaled real smoke that night. Thus an...
AFTER NEW YEAR SICKNESS
Some schools just have to be spoilsports and that includes UP. I found myself trudging my way to school the following day (Jan. 2) only to spend most of the time inside the library. Haha! This is real life. With only a class for that day, I spent the afternoon at starbucks with krystel. Instinct told us that we need some frap and chat dose. Anyway, I was just waiting for cathe since she was supposed to accompany me to st. luke's to pass my app form but then again, women that we are, we changed plans. Hoppity-hop we went to metroeast as krystel trudged back to UP for a freaking math class (kudos for her dedication ;p).
Now, I dunno why I got somewhat sick (a very bad sore throat actually). It could have been new year's bad air. The change in temperature as I went inside and outside very cold starbucks and warm streets. It could have been the mocha frap. Or maybe, just maybe, I overshopped and got myself tired. Darn! Oh well...the sickness was short-lived though (even if it metamorphosed into a cold). I'm thankful for that.
That night (or morning...er) was my first official cram night. Hmm...the new me:
A CRAMMER...NOT!
I officially am not an absolute crammer. Yeah right. I blame it on joyie...with psych 118 and her great time management, I find myself not used to cramming already. It's been a year already. If I do a paper, I sleep late for it only on weekends. As much as possible, I try not to sleep late doing it. I only sleep late for the fun of it. Hehe! :)
For the past few weeks, I've been doing lots of papers. I dunno if you should call it luck when you're doing papers with a group. Cramming just can't be helped. Haay... With a near "fall-out" issue I had with krystel last sem, I finally resolved that well...you just have to deal with it at times.
FIRST WEEK BLUES
Papa's going berserk with his training work now. He leaves home early to drive us to school and returns home really late or really early at around midnight. As I'm doing this, he is out in cold Tagaytay on a retreat (which is still related to his training work). This gives me free access to the PC. We've been hoarding the PC to ourselves if we can. I'm in dire need of a laptop.
GIFT GIVING
Yeppers! Finally distributed my gifts...the final one being that of cj's which I handed to him last Thursday. It just feels good when they appreciate what you give. Hmm...I got a cellphone accessory from jl and a coin purse from ivy. :)
FIRST TIMES
This week is definitely a time of many firsts. I finally tasted ilocos' empanada that cathe was telling us about. It didn't taste good. Oh well...it may probably not be authentic anyway since we bought it in sta. lucia. Besides, I'm more used to Red Ribbon's empanada. Tsk! I went to st. luke's to pass my app form last Tuesday. First time to commute there. I was lucky to be with ivy as she was passing her application as well. Shux! New environment. The next day, I went to have my first exam for this semester. It was a physics exam. After that, our physics group went to AIT to do our water rocket. First time to enter that outside UP campus building...and first time to cross the footbridge where they say maniacs and robbers galore. Lucky me that nothing happened. After that, I headed straight to UERM to pass yet another med school application. This time, I have to commute alone to some place I've never been to. I followed very crucial directions given to me and ta-ta! I arrived and went back home safe and sound. See?! I'm blogging again.
IN NEED OF SOMETHING NEW
I lead a boring lifestyle...not! I still need a new blog layout. And I have to post some pictures! My inet connection's getting slower each day ha. I'll post everything soon. I need a new jacket as well. It really is cold now isn't it? (...another cause for sickness) cathe got her new jacket already. I'm in search of the elusive choco brown jacket. Or maybe...just maybe...I'd settle for the gold and white one at nike. Gee! Way too expensive for me. Desperate times call for desperate measures anyway. Hehe! ;p Hmm...I need new flops as well...
NOT HAVAIANAS
Cathe and I agreed that Havs are going too mainstream now. Even the fake ones are too mainstream already. We're thinking about Billabong. I haven't seen one though already cathe tells me that it is good. However, I still love Havs. I dunno...they just look so good. But I discovered something last Sunday as I was scrubbing and cleaning my havs. The prints just comes off. I dunno if it was because of the scrubbing or it comes with time. Haay...kinda got disillusioned there somewhere.
Anyway, no offense to krystel who bought her first one last Friday. A birthday gift for herself. Congrats to you! Just don't overdo it ok? New styles just keep coming out...patience. :)
NO WAY! STOCK EXCHANGE.
Know what I'm kinda ranting about lately to my family? I want to invest in stocks. I don't even know how to handle money matters...moreso invest in stocks. Who am I kidding?! Oh well...we survived a year of difficulty when papa left his job before just because he sold his stocks. Yeah...I'm inspired $ka-ching!$. Mama said stocks can be really tricky. Papa also lost a wee amount from meralco (warning!). But don't you just love the challenge? I'm a fool.
BUSY-NES IN THE FUTURE
With February just around the corner, mandala has several activities which I also have to attend to. It's decor and logistics again for me as well as for dean, ivy, and jl (among others). I'm kinda excited with the events lined up. Aside from that, UNESCO has it's events as well.
Before February, there's this cultural concert that we have to prepare for in UNESCO. According to bri, we're going to be stage managers. Er...what was that again bes? Haay...you better teach me what to do coz I haven't attended the meetings and I don't know what I'll do yet. I'm still on acads mode.
FRIDAY THE 13TH
I really don't believe in bad luck during Friday the 13th. It's just how you perceive your day to be. We did have problems getting participants for our experiments today but all's well as we ended early naman. I had trouble hailing a cab to go to far away Physics building. In the end, only 5 minutes late for class, I got a taxi with a pa-cute driver and the meter read only 35 pesos. I bet he failed to push the button for that. Then, we didn't have the chance to launch our water rocket as it rained on our turn. More time to fix the rocket then. It did rain bad after. I was drenched wet when I went to OSA to get some letter only to find out that it's not ready yet. So I walked back to PHAN and attended a spec proj meeting which turned out fun (because we made fun of someone? =p). On the way home, I was lucky enough to find a fx in rob that was bound our subdivision. Then I rode a tricycle in which the driver admitted that he was scared of dead people. Hehe! Funny him. A neighbor died kasi last Tuesday and his wake is a few houses away from us on the same street.
Now, that wasn't a bad way to end my first 13 days of January. :)
